To provide Cass County residents with emergency food,
clothing, medicine or household items.
To refer individuals to applicable agencies to appropriately meet their needs.
To enlist the aid of the people of Cass County in providing these emergency services.
Helping Hands of Cass County was founded in 1984 when members of several area churches organized to respond to individual, family, and project needs, working together with the Family Independence Agency volunteer program. Helping Hands was incorporated on December 4, 1984 as a Michigan nonprofit corporation. In 1989 the corporation obtained federal status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
